About Us

Homestead Heritage is a Bible-believing church community in Waco Texas dedicated to strong family values and simple living. We warmly invite you to visit our farm, eat at our top-rated restaurant and let our award-winning artisans teach you their crafts. A trip here offers a window into a bygone era reminiscent of a time before industrialization, when artisan shops thrived on excellence, crops were cultivated by the community for the community, and life centered around faith, family, and friendships. We are proud of the life we’re building together, deeply rooted in Christian values and open to all.

Among the shops at Homestead Heritage is a 1700s timber-frame gift barn, a water-powered gristmill, and artisan work spaces dedicated to pottery, woodworking, blacksmithing, glass blowing and leather crafting. Cafe Homestead serves made-from-scratch cooking daily. The village also features a cheesemaking facility, fiber crafts studio, quilt barn, general store and a farm-to-market grocery, alongside outdoor activities like horse-drawn hayrides and cross-country horseback adventures.

All of this is situated on a 510-acre farm where members collaborate on agricultural projects and community events, all while maintaining autonomy over their individual households and businesses. While some live on the community farm, most of our church members live on their private acreage in areas near Homestead Heritage.

Homestead Heritage extends a warm invitation to experience a lifestyle of simplicity, craftsmanship, and community. As we open our doors to you, we hope to share not just our way of life but to inspire a deeper connection with the values many yearn for in today’s fast-paced world. Join us for a refreshing experience in nature and among friends, where every visit is a lasting experience of a life grounded in faith, family and God’s creation.

Welcome to Homestead Heritage—where the past enriches the future, and the spirit of community thrives.

Learn About Our Church

Homestead Heritage’s beginnings go back to 1973, when founders Blair and Regina Adams moved into the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York. They rented an undersized cold-water flat in which to live and started a small peace church in a chapel which had formerly been a discotheque bar and a crash pad for substance abusers and other down-and-out people from the street. Though we’re not officially affiliated with any larger denomination, our agrarian Christian community shares many core beliefs with various Christian traditions, including Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals and Mennonites.
