At Homestead Heritage, each craftsman personally selects his wood
from stacks of rough-cut boards, always reading the grain to determine
how best to expose the woods rich color and distinctive textures.
He then prepares the wood for his project by milling and sizing
each component himself. Following
age old traditional methods of joinery, he uses predominately hand
tools to lay out and cut the intricate joints. After hand finishing
his piece, each craftsman signs and dates his work.
